Children

Children are important at First Glendale! Our goal is to provide opportunities where children are safe, feel loved by God and the people around them, and have opportunities to grow in their love of God and their place in life.

Children’s Moment During Worship

Children are welcome in all of our worship services. Families are encouraged to come to worship together and enjoy the Children’s Moment with the Pastor. There are also special Children’s Bulletins available during the worship service. Just ask an usher for more information.

Sunday School

Sunday School for Children is offered from 10:10 a.m. – 11:00 am. Pre-K – 2nd grade is in room 103. 3rd-5th grade is in room 102.  Sunday School for Youth (6th – 12th grade) is offered upstairs in room 202. We use a curriculum that encourages creative thinking and our teachers are dedicated, nurturing and caring. Summer Sunday School is a combined class.

Youth

United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) meets at various times, with regular meetings and monthly mission outreach. Experienced, dedicated volunteers make Youth Group a place where teenagers feel safe, can make friends, and find opportunities to grow in their faith. There are also times during every month when the youth group gathers with other youth groups from around the District and Annual Conference for mission activities, b-b-q, dances, retreats and camping experiences at the Annual Conference’s Campgrounds.

Infant and Child Care

For those needing infant and child care (under 3 yrs) the church maintains a well staffed nursery during each of the morning worship services. Ask the ushers or staff for directions to the nursery.  Children must be signed in and out by a parent or care giver.
