Listening to Jesus Opens Our Eyes – Acts 9:10-20
This mornings scripture passage tells a story of the Apostle Paul. He was on his way to Damascus to hunt down and arrest the followers of Jesus when Jesus appeared to him in a “blinding light” that left him blind. It was after he arrived in Damascus that God directed Annannias to come and pray for Paul. Annannias did as he was told and immediately scales fell from Paul’s eyes, he was healed and suddenly saw the followers of Jesus as they really were.
How often is Paul’s story, our story? What keeps us from seeing people and situations as they really are? Where do we need the scales to be removed from our eyes that we might be healed and see people, life and situations as they really are?
