UMOM (United Methodist Outreach Ministries)
UMOM is the largest family shelter in the state of Arizona, and at any given time provides housing, meals, job training, day care and related services to hundreds of families and children. In 2010, they moved to their new facility that accommodates hundreds of families in completely remodeled rooms. UMOM has many opportunities to volunteer your time and services. Wesley Community Center
For over sixty years, Wesley Community Center (a national mission of the United Methodist Church) has been assisting and empowering families in a predominantly Hispanic south Phoenix neighborhood. Ove 200 children each day (ages 5-15) participate in a variety of programs. Wesley has a new Health Center and holds a variety of classes that lift people out of poverty.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a ministry founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. They build for people in need regardless of race or religion. Periodically the church is involved in helping build a Habitat house and anyone is invited to help.
